Orrosiy is a cruelty-free, 100% natural botanical perfumery brand and proud of it. With a fully transparent policy, we manage every part of our manufacturing trail. As we are based entirely in the UK, each element of the process is under our control, and we never test on animals or buy raw ingredients that have been.
We wouldn’t exist without our commitment to respecting the balance of nature. That includes safeguarding the habitats and lives of the animals we share the earth with. We don’t need to test on animals to feel confident in the efficacy and safety of our perfume, and so we don’t.
Nothing in our perfume range contains Sodium lauryl sulphate (AKA SLS), and that makes us a 100% SLS-free brand. SLS is a chemical compound derived from things like palm oil, coconut oil or petroleum. Its purpose is to turn liquids that wouldn’t usually mix easily into an emulsion.
Often used in household and beauty products, studies show that SLS can irritate the skin, especially when in contact with it for some time. As we want you to enjoy our perfumes each day, all day, something that might negatively affect your skin is a huge no for us.
Orrosiy is a paraben-free brand. Parabens are widely used in cosmetic and beauty products as a preservative. A type of para-hydroxybenzoic acid, parabens can cause skin irritation along with being linked to hormonal imbalances through their ability to mimic oestrogen, fertility and an increased risk of cancer.
Our stance is to respect the balance of nature in all ways, and we could never use an ingredient that has the potential to create discord within our bodies. Our natural fragrances are true paraben-free products that rely on plant-derived ingredients and beautiful bottles to preserve our perfumes without the need for something that could harm us.
On the shelves, you’ll often find fragrances in bright, larger than life colours, achieved through synthetic colourings. Our perfumes look beautiful without the need for synthetic dyes. The hue of our fragrances is 100% from natural ingredients.
Just like other synthetic ingredients, synthetic dyes can harm the planet and have been linked to numerous health conditions. While studies are ongoing, we know that there’s no need to use synthetic dyes and risk our health, and that’s why we stay synthetic dye-free.
While a synthetic perfume might last longer, this is due to chemical use to prolong the scent on your skin. Synthetic chemicals used as this fixing agent include phthalates like diethyl phthalate (DEP).
They are impossible to detect, with no scent, taste or visible signs, but they leave a toxic trail for both humans and the planet. Connected health risks of phthalates include skin irritation as well as notable issues like heart disease, cancer and reduced sperm count. We never want to jeopardise our health, and that’s why we only make phthalate-free products.
